The study shows, both State and Central Governments have been promoting the use of bio-fertilizers through various practices. Even the growth rate of both production and consumption of bio-fertilizer in India is quite satisfactory, a very small percentage of estimated demand is justified with this production.

A free living gram negative rod shaped nitrogen fixing bacterium.
Capable of producing growth promoting substances such Asgibberalins, Cytokinins, Indole, Acetic acid as well as antibiotics which suppress and control plant pathogens (Fungi, bacteria and virus).
Helps in mineralization of plant nutrients and proliferation of useful micro-organisms.
